It’s time to take control of your diabetes.
Pumps It Inc. is helping thousands of people with insulin dependent diabetes take control of their diabetes with the latest in medical technology. They can attain better glucose control, have greater freedom of lifestyle and greater quality of life thanks to these wonderful new technology.
Insulin pumps mimic the healthy pancreas by delivering minute amounts of insulin 2 different ways. The first is by delivering a precise background amount of insulin, or “basal” insulin, throughout the day to meet the needs of your body between meals. The basal can be adjusted to meet your unique insulin profile. Bolus insulin is the second way the pump delivers. A bolus is used to cover the carbohydrates you will eat during a meal or a snack. A bolus is also used to help lower blood sugars that are running high. The result is better control of diabetes, better health, and better quality of life!
Continuous Glucose Monitoring Systems (CGMS) measure blood sugar hundreds of times per day. This technology not only tells you your blood sugar reading, but also whether your blood sugar is rising or falling, and how fast. This information is critical in deciding how much insulin you need.
Threshold Suspend is the first step towards an artificial pancreas approved by the FDA. This technology for the first time combines CGMS to an insulin pump allowing the user to set a low blood sugar “threshold”. When this threshold is reached the CGM system suspends pump delivery.
