Pumps It, Inc. Receives 2009 Houston Award

U.S. Local Business Association’s Award Plaque Honors the Achievement

WASHINGTON D.C., March 20, 2009 -- For the second consecutive year, Pumps It, Inc. has been selected for the 2009 Houston Award in the Medical Supplies category by the U.S. Local Business Association (USLBA).

The USLBA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USLBA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.

Nationwide, only 1 in 70 (1.4%) 2008 Award recipients qualified as 2009 Award Winners. Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2009 USLBA Award Program focused on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USLBA and data provided by third parties.

Smiths Medical Discontinues Deltec Cozmo® Insulin Pump Effective Immediately

SMITHS MEDICAL ANNOUNCES INTENT TO STOP SELLING DELTEC COZMO® INSULIN PUMPS

Decision Represents First Step in Orderly Exit from the Diabetes Business Over Time

ST. PAUL, Minn. - 25 March 2009 - Smiths Medical announced today its intent to stop selling the Deltec Cozmo® insulin pump, and manage an orderly, carefully controlled exit from the diabetes business over time.

"The continued health of the thousands of people who use the Deltec Cozmo® insulin pump is our primary concern, and they should be reassured that their pump remains an excellent choice to help them manage their diabetes," said Srini Seshadri, president of Smiths Medical. "Our customers also should also be reassured that Smiths Medical will meet all of its warranty obligations; provide customer and clinical support for the lifetime of the warranty of all pumps; ensure that Deltec Cozmo® insulin pump cartridges and Cleo® and Comfort® infusion sets are available; and make any necessary transitions as simple as possible."

Pumps It is a Smiths Medical U. S. Distributor, and we will continue to provide Deltec Cozmo® insulin pump cartridges and Cleo® and Comfort® infusion sets. Pumps It will also continue to honor all warranties through pump/product expiration dates.

And remember, Pumps It offers a variety of reliable, top-performing insulin pumps from other manufacturers.
